- Teen Beat Tell us a little bit about your character on 7th Heaven
- David Gallagher Simon? He's very single-minded and if he doesn't get what he wants, he just doesn't give up. On the show,. Simon wants a dog and he just keeps bugging his parents - bugging, bugging, bugging - until his mom finally goes to the pound and comes back with this really cute terrier.
- TB: Are you like that in real life?
- DG: I try to be... uh, don't try to be, but sometimes, yes.
- TB: What do you like best about acting?
- DG: It's cool. I mean, my favorite part about doing this is when you get a job like a movie, and it comes out. It's just the thrill of going to the theatre and seeing yourself on the big screen. Like when I was eight years old and I saw myself on the big screen for the very first time [in "Look Who\'s Talking Now"]. I was so excited at the end of the movie that when the lights came back on, I jumped up and turned around and because we were in the very first row, I said, "Hey, everybody! How'd you like the movie?!" And everybody went, "Oh my gosh!"
- TB: In 7th Heaven you come from a family of five kids-In real life do you have any brothers and sisters?
- DG: Yes, I have two brothers and two sisters.
- TB: Is your family anything like the 7th Heaven family?
- DG: Well... the family in 7th Heaven is a little bit too nice to each other. I'd have to say that. My family is a little bit rougher when it comes to personal things. Other than that, they are pretty much alike.
- TB: How would you like to see your character develop?
- DG: I would like him to keep on doing what he is doing. I like my spot in this. So far I've been the comedy relief in it - most of my lines have been a joke or a silly comment in, like, a dramatic moment. It just relieves the Camdens of all the heavy duty stuff that's gone on before, so I would like to keep it that way.
- TB: What do you like to do for fun?
- DG: I like to play. I like to go outside and do things. I like Christmas when I get things, like my dad will get me a Batman action figure and then I'll go out and play with it. I'm still into toys and action figures, but if I get one, I have to get every other one in the series. I can't have just one!
- TB: Do you play with friends or your brothers and sisters?
- DG: Now I have to make do with my brothers and sisters, because we live way, way out in the middle of two mountains. We live way at the end of a long, twisting, winding road. It's a very peaceful, beautiful area. You should see it, there are so many animals out there... like coyotes! We were driving down the road one day and these two baby coyotes came down on the road. We were going to take them home, then they ran away.
- TB: What kind of dog do you have?
- DG: A Rotweiller. Usually when people hear we have a Rotweiller, they are ohhhhhhh... like uh-oh, what does he do? But I think of him as a big, fat teddy bear because all he does is walk around the house and wants to be petted and loved and hugged. His name is Nomad. When my sister was three, she named him "Don't get so mad". But my dad cut it short to Nomad.
- TB: Name something you refuse to eat.
- DG: Oatmeal. I will not eat oatmeal!
- TB: What's your favorite snack?
- DG: Cookies - Oreos or Chips Ahoy.
- TB: What makes you happy and what makes you sad?
- DG: A lot of things make me happy - like when I get a job or when something good happens to a friend, that makes me happy. And then it's just the opposite, like when something bad happens to a friend, like he has to go to the hospital or breaks a finger, that makes me sad. Or when something bad happens to one of my siblings, or my dog or my mom and dad... that makes me sad. I don't get sad, if I don't get an audition or something like that. I don't bother with that.
- TB: What's your worse habit?
- DG: I know! I bite my nails. I bite them down to the knuckle and I can't stop. I do it when I'm nervous. I do it when I'm hungry. I do it when I'm not hungry. I do it when I'm watching TV. I just do it all the time.
- TB: What do you like to watch on TV?
- DG: Horror movies. Cartoons. The Animaniacs are so hysterical and Tiny Toon Adventures - I like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck. I used to like Woody Woodpecker, but then he got taken off the air.
- TB: If you could be a cartoon character, which would it be?
- DG: I'd like to be one of the Animaniacs - because, all they do is have fun and get chased around and do silly things. I think that's really cool. All they do is have fun all day and nothing else.

On 7th Heaven, 10 years old "Simon Camden" really knows what he wants from life. The same is true for the adorable actor who plays him, 12 year old David Gallagher. In addition to his role on this hit show, David also recently filmed a TV movie, co-starring Matthew Lawrence, called . Read on for everything about David.
- Tiger Beat: What would you like to see Simon do this season on 7th Heaven?
- David Gallagher: I'd like to se him get a girlfriend. It couldn't hurt, could it?
- TB: Definitely not! How much of the real you do you see in Simon?
- DG: Well, I haven't changed and Simon hasn't changed. He still is as single-minded as he ever was and I'm still not as single-minded as he is. We still both argue to a point.
- TB: On 7th Heaven, you're the second youngest child, but at home you're the oldest of five kids. How do you relate your TV family to your real life family?
- DG: It's kind of hard to relate because the 7th Heaven family is going into more boyfriend/girlfriend and family problems and all that. My family is just as big only with littler kids, so we're not there yet.
- TB: I notice you're wearing a very cool cowboy hat. Where did you get it?
- DG: Yeah, it's cool, isn't it? I just got it when I did an episode of Walker Texas Ranger.
- TB: Who did you play in the episode?
- DG: I was a little "Phenomenon" boy. I did things with my mind.
- TB: Sounds cool. When can we see it?
- DG: It's the fifth episode this fall. It's going to be so cool.
- TB: Did you do any other projects over the summer?
- DG: Yes. Right before I did Walker I went up to Canada to film a movie of the week called . I play "Kevin," who is a little player who calls on the angels to help his team. He's the only one who can see them. Christopher Lloyd is the head angel.
- TB: Is it funny?
- DG: Yeah, it's a comedy but it's also touching. I have to cry a few times.
- TB: Is it hard for you to cry on cue?
- DG: No :D Actually, the hardest thing in all of acting is two things: crying and laughing real hard when no one has anything funny to say.
- TB: When will air?
- DG: In the Fall, about the same time as the Walker episode and 7th Heaven. People are going to be like, "Oh, there's that David Gallagher kid again,"
- TB: Do you get recognized a lot in real life?
- DG: Yeah, I'm usually recognized at least once every time I go somewhere.
- TB: What do people say?
- DG: Most of the time they don't come up to me. They just walk around me and stare at me really obviously and go "Oh my god, it's him from 7th Heaven. " And I'm like, "Hey!!" One time I was at the supermarket - me and my dad were doing our first shopping on our own without the shopper, who's Mom. I mean, I love shopping, but I don't shop for food. Anyway, on my left side there was a whole aisle of just dog food, all different kinds. You know how they don't stack it perfect so there are those little holes where you can see the next aisle? Well, there was this 16 year old girl on the other side looking through the holes at me. I just happened to glance over and see those eyes! To tell you the truth, I really like it when someone recognizes me. It makes me feel good, but they don't always come up and I feel kind of bad about that.
- TB: Well, with all your projects coming up, I'm sure you'll be recognized all over the place. Good luck with everything!
- DG: Thanks!
